Here's the straight version. A 24 hour mobile mechanic means a mechanic who takes calls outside normal business hours: late evening, overnight, early morning, holidays. The repair itself is the same as daytime: diagnose, quote, fix on-site. Parts availability is the one after-hours limit. Batteries and common belts are often carried in the van; a specific alternator or starter may need a parts store to open. If that's the case, the mechanic can get you safely parked and return first thing with the part.

Get the car somewhere safe and legal to leave overnight: a well-lit lot, a side street, your driveway if it can be jumped and driven. Lock it, take your valuables and get a ride home.
